Oedipus: Thebes, Greece; I am Oedipus the king of Thebes. I left my old land Corinth because the Oracle of Delphi had told me that I was going to kill my own father and sleep with my mother. Therefore I left my land and on my way to the land of Thebes, I encountered an old man with a few servants and killed them. After I encountered the Sphinx. In order for me to get passed the Sphinx, I had to answer a riddle correctly, if not the Sphinx would kill me. I answered correctly and the people of Thebes were excited that I saved them from the Sphinx, so they crowned me as their king. Eventually I married Jocasta and had four beautiful children with her.
